What is Creative Commons?
Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization that enables the sharing and use of creativity and knowledge through free legal tools.
Creative Commons licenses work together with copyright. While copyright designates "all rights reserved," Creative Commons licenses allow you to designate "some rights reserved."
You can specify to users up front what you are willing to share and how you are willing to share it.
By granting specific types of permission up front, CC licenses save users time and allow for increased sharing of resources.
