Would you like your students to read an online article or ebook? Link to articles and ebooks from Canvas.
When you find an article, ebook, or streaming video in a library database, don't copy the URL from your web browser -- this will break.
Always look for a permanent link to copy. Look for permalink, bookmark, document URL, or share. Copy as paste these links into your Canvas course.
Learn how to add a link into a Canvas Module so that it looks like the example below. For example, you could add a link to the Library Research Tutorial. http://guides.ucclibrary.com/research What a good idea! No?
Schedule information literacy presentations and activities for your online classes!
This UCC Library Research Tutorial is a module that is available for you to import into your course from Canvas Commons.
This tutorial teaches students how to read an assignment, find reference sources for background information, choose and narrow a topic, brainstorm search terms, utilize basic search techniques, find books and articles, copy citations from databases, and read and evaluate articles.
If you are interested in a tutorial/assignment in Canvas to help students learn research strategies for your specific course, contact the UCC Reference Librarian, Jennifer Lantrip.
Contact UCC Online for further assistance importing this module into your course.
